You can always count on the studio temperature being soothingly warm (but not too hot), to encourage relaxation in the body. We offer many forms of energy work with each one of these practices containing the potential to help you cultivate positive transformation and quality living. Description of Classes:
Hatha Yoga A balanced combination of sustained poses with attention to basic alignment and therapeutic principals. Mindfulness; observing breath and body (triputi) are an integral part of class. This style of yoga provides a great stretch and strengthens the body.
This is a great class for beginners or those dealing with an injury or those who just prefer moving slowly. This is a slow paced class will leave you feeling stretched and alive. Additional benefits include: improving low back pain and teaching you how to relax!
Beginner Yoga (Drop-in)
An introduction to Hatha Yoga. Learning in depth the basics of yoga in a workshop fashion. Learn the names, anatomical features and benefits of the basic postures of yoga. Specific instruction on breathing, alignment and transitioning. This is a slow moving class. If you are injured or in pain please call a day ahead of time before dropping in, 250-270-0056, so the teacher is prepared for your arrival.
This practice is designed to offer the balancing effects of yin (passive) and yang(active) styles of yoga. This class draws upon the more internal, quiet and longer held postures, balanced with active, moving and dynamic or heat producing yoga postures to create a wholistic body experience.
Twist and Release
Twist and flow to welcome in new energy and strength. Begin warming up briskly with surya namaskars, focusing on a cleansing balanced breathing technique. After creating heat, gradually dive into a mix of core strengthening postures,standing balance postures and twists.
This practice will be wonderful asset for golfers, athletes or anyone wanting to relieve tension in the body
Hot 26 is a hatha yoga practice derived from the teachings of Bishnu Ghosh and Paramahansa Yogananda. Because there are no sun salutations (vinyasa) in this class, the room is hotter than we usually keep it. This class consists of a fixed sequence of 26 asanas, excellent for all levels of practitioners. Everyone practices the same posture at different levels of ability, receiving the same benefits. Vinyasa Flow Each class consists of a warm-up, followed by a flow of asana (poses), incorporating pranayama (breath-work) throughout, as well as meditation, and final relaxation, to allow the body, mind, and spirit to come together as one. This flow class is intended to improve your fitness level and help you gain more strength and flexibilty throughout the entire body. No experience needed, as variations will be provided, however prepare to enjoy a class of movement and fluidity!
Glow from the inside out with this gentle flow class that opens the hips and activates the core. Not fast moving, but focusing on "pure" movement. Both the beginner and season practitioner will love this class!
Candlelight Yin Yoga
Create space and ease with long held floor postures that relax the muscles and target the deep connective tissues of the body. Yin yoga is a grounding and meditative practice, and a beautiful way to balance an active life or Yang-style yoga practice. Suitable for all levels.
Flow and Restore
Finish your day the right way - give yourself a chance to move your body and stretch out all those tensions! This class is a wonderful way to gently move your body, createe a little bit of sweat for detoxifying, awaken the core and then bring it down so you are relaxed and prepared for a wonderful sleep!
Happy Fit Hips will have you stretching to improve the joint mobility and ease pain. This class will even benefit those born with flexibility - we still need to work consistently to maintain hip health.This class is chaturanga free!
Yoga for Shoulders and Neck
As we head into the end of the year holiday season, stress and tension may often show up in our bodies, creating unnecessary pain and suffering in our necks and upper backs.This class is dedicated towards create greater ease in the over stressed muscles of your neck and shoulders through yoga.
Funky Beats Flow and Restore
A combination of yoga with awesome tunes that will help you find your happy place. Each week we will have a super fun playlist that will help us get lost in the moment. It could be anything from the latest funky beats to songs from your younger days, songs you may be ashamed to admit you L-O-V-E! The class is suited to all levels with options for those who have never seen a yoga mat, to those who handstand on the regular. Most importantly we will aim to have a lot of fun!
Yoga for Strength and Endurance
This is a yoga class for the experienced yogi. You should have familiarity with all the postures and good awareness of transitioning safely. The class will vary weekly, but will be concentrated on a mix of intermediate to advanced postures with longer holds, standing alone or weaved into continuous flow. This is our only level 2 class on schedule.
