What Are TIBETAN BOWLS

Tibetan Singing Bowls have been used for centuries for healing and meditation purposes. They create a range of sounds to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of diseased and out-of-harmony parts of the body, mind and soul.

How do Tibetan Singing Bowls help in the healing process?

It can be said that illness is a manifestation of dis-harmony within the body—an imbalance in the cells or a given organ. Since all matter is energy vibrating at different rates, by altering the rate of vibration we can change the structure of matter. Sound from Tibetan Singing Bowls entrain the brain to move into the Theta brain wave frequencies that induce deep meditative and peaceful states, clarity of mind, and intuition.  The sound vibrations impact our nervous system, engaging our relaxation reflex and inhibiting the stress or pain response.

Through listening to Tibetan Singing Bowls one’s internal dialogue, the ’inner critic’ is quieted. Their sound synchronizes brain waves and enhances awareness of the mind/body connection.

All parts of your body possess a different resonant frequency. When an organ, or other part of the body, is vibrating “out of tune” or non-harmoniously, it is called “dis-ease”. A body is in a healthy state when each cell and each organ resonate in harmony with the whole being.

Using Tibetan Singing Bowls for healing is based on the idea that all illness or disease is characterized by a hindrance to the flow of energy in the body. When energy flow is hindered, the organ or tissue in question stops vibrating at a healthy frequency, and thus it results in some kind of weakness or illness. The sound frequencies created by Tibetan Singing Bowls restore and optimise the flow of energy in the parts of the body where this is required.

TIBETAN BOWLS + YIN YOGA 

7:15-9pm, $35, or $30 for Annual Members

(First FriDAY, every month -Next is JAN 5)

Unwind at week’s end with this deeply relaxing, candle-lit infused class of healing yin yoga and sound. Our practice will be centred around balancing our chakras through, yoga and vibration. This session of yin yoga is directed towards the deeper connective tissue, (ligaments, bones and joints) and can be a profound counterbalance to the more Yang elements of many yoga practices today. The postures will be practiced in seated or lying positions on the mat in poses and held for an extended time. Another special part of this class is our use of sandbags on your body.

Your yoga instructor will be, Kelly Carlson, who has been teaching Yin Yoga since 2011. Tea and chocolate served afterwards to bring us back to earth.  

Great for beginners, seasoned practitioners, athletes or anyone wanting to relax and unwind. This is a boutique class and is limited to 10 folks, preregistration and prepayment required

Stress and negativity create blockages of a healthy flow of energy, showing up as energy disturbances at first, and then later as illness in our physical body. In this state we are in a lower vibration than that of a healthy, blockage-free body.

This sound session of Tibetan Singing Bowls is a chance to take some time for yourself and help bring back the peace and harmony within your body and in your life!

This meditation is generally done lying down on your back, although we are happy to accommodate any situation with advance notice! Please bring your yoga mat and any props you might need for comfort like pillows or blankets. We do have some props available to borrow and yoga mats can be rented for $2.
